when I got a telephone call out of the blue from a chap called David Gomez from Spain,he said “can you build me the fastest car in the world”
I said “what are you after”
He replied “ I want you to build me a car that looks a million dollars and has two turbo Hyabusa engines a thousand bhp and four wheel drive”
“Ok” I said “ leave it to me”
We often get calls at Z cars asking if we can build something unusual and we always say “yes”, so far we have achieved everything weve set out to but this was a special request and would take some serious sorting out
Over the next few months we found a very low mileage Ultima sports in Newcastle, the car had been built to a high standard by its owner and had completed only 850 miles scince being sva tested and registered.
Having looked around the chassis and measuring the available space it was decided that the car was an ideal starting point for the conversion
It was fitted with a 5 litre TVR V8 engine and Renault 25 transaxle, which filled the engine bay completely.as I stood looking at this car I realised that it could have been designed for what we were about to do.
A quick phone call to David and the deal was done.
